Aveda Earth Month

Messaging and copy lead for Aveda Earth Month—a global giving program benefiting clean water efforts—which grew by 196% (overall) with 2012-13 seeing a 24% growth in giving year-over-year: the single greatest absolute growth in the program’s history.

Sarah brings a warm, accessible and authentic voice to our Earth Month campaigns and mission-aligned campaigns. Her work on these campaigns makes clear her understanding of and dedication to our mission and her unwillingness to submit to the temptation of greenwashing. She also serves on our Disaster Relief Task Force, a cross functional team responsible for the planning and execution of the charitable giving components and related communication of Aveda’s response to natural and manmade disasters, and has impressed me with her ability to quickly compose copy for our web and social media outlets that encapsulate the concern, compassion and action being taken by our global network in a warm, palatable way. Her passion for our efforts to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility are genuine and infectious and a welcome support to the Earth and Community Care Department.
